Alopecia, in every form
Alopecia areata, totalis, universalis, traction alopecia, scarring alopecia — April has worked with women and men across the spectrum. Each plan is different. Prescription cranial prosthesis and insurance
A medical wig or integration prescribed for hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, or other diagnoses is often considered a cranial prosthesis by insurers, HSAs, and FSAs. We provide the prescription invoice and documentation you need to submit for potential reimbursement.
We cannot guarantee coverage — every plan is different — but many clients recover some or all of their investment. We walk you through the paperwork.

Can you match the hair I had before chemo?+
Yes. April routinely builds transformations from client photos taken before treatment — matching hairline, parting, color, and density as closely as possible so the result looks like the version of you that you remember.
Is the scalp comfortable during active treatment?+
That is April's first concern. During active chemotherapy, she chooses featherlight bases and gentle attachment systems designed for sensitive scalps. There is always a path that meets you where your body is.
How is this different from a traditional medical wig?+
A traditional medical wig is a single fixed piece. A LiteStyleTM solution is custom-built to your head, hairline, and hair memory, then cut and styled to you. The result is designed to be indistinguishable — to the eye and to the touch.
Will my insurance cover it?+
Many private plans, HSAs, and FSAs cover cranial prostheses for medical hair loss at least partially. We provide the prescription invoice and documentation to submit. Coverage varies by carrier and plan.
